Database disclosure via unescaped course sorting parameter
Published Jan 11, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
SQL injection in ThimPress LearnPress 4.2.5.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to read database data through a public REST endpoint. The /wp-json/lp/v1/courses/archive-course handler places the user-controlled order_by value into an SQL ORDER BY clause without sufficient escaping or query preparation. No authentication or user interaction is required; time-delay queries provide a blind oracle for extracting sensitive WordPress database values.
