Stored XSS via unprotected settings update
Published Feb 12, 2024 · Updated May 6, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Calenfretts lasTunes 3.6.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject script through a forged settings request. The settings handler accepts a POST to wp-admin/themes.php?page=lasTunes_settings without a CSRF nonce, then stores lasTunes_row_evn_style and lasTunes_row_odd_style values without sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to submit the forged request, after which the stored payload executes when the affected style settings are rendered.
