Stored script execution via unneutralized book metadata
Published Nov 30, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in SourceCodester Book Borrower System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter pages via crafted book metadata. The endpoint/add-book.php handler stores Book Title and Book Author values without neutralizing them before later page generation. An authenticated user can plant script content that executes when another user views the affected book listing, enabling actions or data access in that viewer's session.
