User redirection via unvalidated destination parameter
Published Jan 29, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Open redirect in Abhinav Singh WordPress Toolbar 2.2.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to send users to arbitrary sites via crafted links. The public toolbar.php endpoint uses the wptbto query parameter as its redirect destination without restricting it to trusted URLs. No authentication is required, but a target must follow the crafted link; the resulting redirect can lead the browser to a malicious site.
