CVE-2023-6387

Code execution via malformed HCI CPC input

Published Feb 2, 2024 · Updated May 15, 2025

Buffer overflow in Silicon Labs Gecko SDK before 4.4.0 allows adjacent attackers to crash devices or execute code via Bluetooth LE HCI CPC input. The vendor identifies incorrect buffer parsing in the Bluetooth LE HCI CPC sample application but has not disclosed the specific parser operation or input field that crosses a buffer boundary. Exploitation requires Bluetooth-adjacent access and the affected sample application; successful input handling can crash the embedded device or run attacker-controlled code.
