Heap corruption via unsafe Spellcheck view cast
Published Nov 29, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Type confusion in Google Chrome before 119.0.6045.199 allows remote attackers with a compromised renderer to corrupt heap memory. Spellcheck's BindTextSuggestionHostForFrame unsafely converts a child-frame view returned by GetView into an incompatible view type without checking its runtime type. A crafted HTML page reaches the corrupting path only after renderer compromise; no broader consequence is publicly established.
