CVE-2023-6323Public exploit

AuthKey disclosure via unauthenticated server-redirection message

Published May 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Insufficient message-authenticity verification in ThroughTek Kalay SDK before 4.3.4.2 allows attackers to disclose the AuthKey. The SDK accepts an unauthenticated UDP message 0x1008 naming an alternative P2P cloud server, connects to that server, and sends its device-specific AuthKey in message 0x122. Reachability requires the same local network and knowledge of the device P2P ID; this issue alone exposes the AuthKey but does not establish the DTLS session needed to control the device.
