CVE-2023-6321Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root command execution via unsanitized OTA archive name

Published May 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

OS command injection in Owlet Camera V1 before 4.2.11 and V2 before 4.2.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The OTA-update handler for IOCTL message 0x6008E passes the attacker-controlled archive name to a shell command without sanitizing metacharacters. Only clients with authenticated TUTK sessions can reach the handler, which grants full device control under the root account.
