CVE-2023-6316Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via nonterminating upload rejection

Published Jan 11, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Arbitrary file upload in MW WP Form 5.0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute PHP code through a public form upload. The _single_file_upload function catches a failed file-type check, logs the exception, and then still calls move_uploaded_file on the rejected input. Exploitation requires a form with file upload and Saving inquiry data in database enabled; the uploaded PHP file can execute with the web server account.
