Stored script execution via unfiltered meta tags
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in CSZ CMS 1.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in visitors' browsers via Additional Meta Tag. The Site Settings handler saves Additional Meta Tag content without strict filtering, and the homepage emits the stored SVG markup into its response. Administrator privileges are required to plant the payload, and execution occurs when a visitor loads the homepage, allowing modification of content shown in that browser.
