CVE-2023-6293Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service interruption via unsafe deepAssign key copying

Published Nov 24, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Prototype pollution in sequelize-typescript before 2.1.6 allows remote attackers to disrupt applications through crafted scope options. The deepAssign function copies every own property name into its target without rejecting proto, constructor, or prototype keys, allowing prototype attributes to be changed. A consuming application must pass attacker-controlled scope options into the library; successful exploitation can interrupt the host service.
