Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped Separator setting
Published Jan 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024
Stored XSS in SEOPress before 7.3 allows remote authenticated users with administrator privileges to inject scripts through the Separator setting. The seopress-titles administration page stores the Separator value without sanitization and later renders it on post-edit pages without escaping. Exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites with unfiltered_html disabled, and the script runs when a user opens an affected post-edit page.
