Unauthenticated backup disclosure via public SQL dumps
Published Jan 1, 2024 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Information exposure in Clever Widgets Backup Migration before 1.3.6 allows remote attackers to read in-progress database backups. During backup creation, the plugin writes SQL table dumps and a log beneath includes/htaccess without preventing public HTTP access. Exploitation requires discovering these transient paths while a backup runs; exposed tables can contain database records and password hashes.
