CVE-2023-6269Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated root access via credential argument injection

Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Argument injection in the administrative interfaces of Atos Unify OpenScape SBC, Branch, and BCF allows remote attackers to gain root access. PasswordMgr::call_osbpasswd applies escapeshellcmd rather than argument-safe quoting, leaving spaces in supplied passwords before a root-privileged parser accepts repeated options. No authentication is required; crafted credentials can create an SSH user, change the root password, or append the show operation to enter the web interface as an administrator.
