Authenticated protected-post disclosure via unchecked AJAX action
Published Apr 11, 2024 · Updated Mar 26, 2025
Missing authorization in Inline Related Posts before 3.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to read password-protected posts. The irp_list_posts AJAX action returns post content without checking whether the requester is authorized to view each post. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of protected post content without modification or service interruption.
