CVE-2023-6254

Password disclosure via plaintext interface responses

Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Oct 15, 2024

Credential exposure in OTRS 8.0.x through 8.0.37 allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to read plaintext passwords. AgentInterface and ExternalInterface include plaintext passwords in server responses instead of withholding protected credentials; OTRS has not disclosed the responsible endpoint, function, or request parameter. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the exposed passwords enable account access and data modification, although the affected response path is undisclosed.
