CVE-2023-6248Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unsecured MQTT broker

Published Nov 21, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024

Improper authentication in Syrus4 IoT Telematics Gateway apex-23.43.2 allows remote attackers to execute code through cloud MQTT. The cloud MQTT broker accepts unauthenticated connections, relays commands that devices download and execute, and exposes location, video, and diagnostic data. Knowledge of the broker IP address is sufficient to affect connected gateways, including sending CAN bus messages or immobilizing a vehicle.
