Post metadata modification via missing nonce validation
Published Jan 11, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in EventON 4.5.4 and earlier and EventON Lite 2.2.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter post metadata. The evo_eventpost_update_meta AJAX handler processes forged requests without validating a WordPress nonce and writes attacker-chosen values into arbitrary post metadata. Exploitation requires an administrator to submit the forged request, such as by clicking a malicious link; the bounded consequence is unauthorized modification of post data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
