Code execution or crash via crafted SLP request
Published Feb 6, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Canon office printer firmware 03.07 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code or crash devices through SLP requests. The SLP attribute-request handler writes beyond its buffer while processing a crafted attribute request; Canon has not disclosed the responsible function or exact length error. Access to the same network segment is sufficient, and successful exploitation can leave the printer unresponsive or run attacker-controlled code.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
