Insecure iframe loading via javascript pop-up
Published Nov 21, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Mixed-content bypass in Mozilla Firefox before 120 allows remote attackers to load insecure HTTP iframes from a secure page. The Mixed Content Blocker failed to check whether the pop-up's root document was a secure context before allowing the nested HTTP load. Exploitation requires the site's pop-up permission and attacker-controlled HTTPS content; the user receives no indication that the iframe is insecure.
