Permission grants via fullscreen-transition clickjacking
Published Nov 21, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Clickjacking in Mozilla Firefox before 120, Firefox ESR before 115.5.0, and Thunderbird before 115.5 allows remote attackers to obtain permissions. The fullscreen-exit black fade lasts about as long as the prompt's anti-clickjacking delay, so a permission prompt appears beneath an anticipated click. Exploitation requires a user to enter fullscreen and continue clicking as it exits; successful attacks grant camera, microphone, or geolocation access.
