Guest profile disclosure via missing authorization
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Oct 11, 2024
Improper access control in affected Mattermost releases allows remote authenticated users to read another user's profile data. The /plugins/focalboard/api/v2/users endpoint returns a requested user's record without verifying that a guest may access that user. A guest account and knowledge of another user's ID are required; exposure is limited to profile fields such as names and nicknames.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=7.8.12
