CVE-2023-6194Public exploit

Local file disclosure via external DTD resolution

Published Dec 11, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

XXE in report generation in Eclipse Memory Analyzer 0.7 through 1.14.0 allows local users to read files via crafted report XML. The report-definition SAX parser enables secure processing but fails to prohibit external DTD access, so it resolves a DOCTYPE system identifier when the report runs. Exploitation requires an untrusted report definition to be selected and generated, exposing files readable by the MAT process or triggering requests to attacker-chosen URLs.
