CVE-2023-6187Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked file upload

Published Nov 18, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Arbitrary file upload in Paid Memberships Pro 2.12.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place executable files on servers. pmpro_paypalexpress_session_vars_for_user_fields processes uploads for user fields hidden from checkout without validating file types, allowing PHP content into the public pmpro-register-helper uploads directory. Subscriber access is sufficient only with PayPal Express or 2Checkout and a custom field shown on profiles but hidden at checkout; requesting an uploaded PHP file executes code.
