CVE-2023-6185

Code execution via unescaped GStreamer pipeline input

Published Dec 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Code execution in LibreOffice 7.5 before 7.5.9 and 7.6 before 7.6.3 allows attackers to run GStreamer plugins via embedded video. The GStreamer integration passes an insufficiently escaped embedded-video filename into a pipeline, allowing pipeline syntax to select installed plugins. Opening a crafted document on Linux triggers the path; execution is limited to plugins present on the target and requires user interaction.
