Unauthenticated post metadata modification via unchecked AJAX
Published Jan 10, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in EventON Pro 4.5.4 and earlier and EventON Lite 2.2.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter post metadata. The evo_eventpost_update_meta AJAX handler accepts unauthenticated requests and updates or deletes attacker-selected post metadata without a capability check. No account is required; exploitation can change or remove event data and inject content through supported metadata parameters.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
