Monitoring-core command execution via newline injection
Published Nov 22, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Livestatus injection in Checkmk availability timelines allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary monitoring-core commands. The availability-timeline WebUI passes relevant parameters containing newline delimiters to the Livestatus core, so appended lines are parsed as additional commands. An authorized WebUI account is required, and the vendor has not identified which core commands were demonstrated or their exact operational effects.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=2.0.0 <=2.0.0p39
- Affected versionversion=2.1.0 <2.1.0p37
