Email address disclosure via unauthorized AJAX search
Published Dec 26, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Information disclosure in AYS Pro Plugins Quiz Maker before 6.4.9.5 allows remote attackers to obtain user email addresses via AJAX. The ays_quiz_author_user_search action accepts unauthenticated search strings and returns matching user identifiers, enabling character-by-character email reconstruction. Network access to the WordPress AJAX endpoint is sufficient, and the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of user email addresses rather than modification or service interruption.
