Uncontrolled DLL search path in AVEVA Edge 2020 R2 SP2 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code. AVEVA has not disclosed the affected executable or exact search order; the application loads an attacker-planted DLL from a writable filesystem location. Exploitation requires low-privileged filesystem access and user interaction, after which code runs with the application's privileges and enables privilege escalation.
