Authenticated command execution via crafted Perl upload
Published Feb 1, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2025
OS command injection in Dassault Systèmes BIOVIA Materials Studio 2021 through 2023 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The upload path executes a specially crafted Perl script without neutralizing embedded operating-system command content; Dassault Systèmes has not identified the responsible handler. Low-privileged access to the network-reachable upload function is required, and successful exploitation grants command execution with the service's permissions.
