Administrator stored XSS via unescaped custom metadata
Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Stored XSS in EventON before 4.5.5 and EventON Lite before 2.2.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via custom event metadata. A custom metadata value is stored without sanitization or output escaping and executes when an administrator reopens the event editor. Administrator access is required to save the payload, and a later edit view triggers script execution in the viewer's browser even when unfiltered_html is disabled.
