CVE-2023-6002Network attack vector

Log forgery and XSS via unneutralized input

Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Cross-site scripting in YugabyteDB allows remote attackers to forge log entries and inject malicious content through crafted input. The log-writing path records attacker-controlled text without neutralizing characters that become active content when affected logs are rendered. No authentication is required; forged entries can mislead log review, while injected script content can expose or alter data in the viewing context.
