Crash via unchecked MPEG packet size
Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in GPAC before 2.3.0-DEV allows local users to crash MP4Box by processing a crafted MPEG video file. In mpgviddmx_process, the MPEG video reframer adds stored header bytes to a packet size and passes that unchecked size to memcpy, reading beyond the remaining input. Triggering requires MP4Box to DASH-package the crafted input; the demonstrated consequence is process abort, and the report identifies heap disclosure as an exploitation primitive.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
