Device takeover via unchecked firmware integrity
Published Nov 15, 2023 · Updated Sep 30, 2025
Firmware integrity failure in all PowerLogic ION8650 and ION8800 versions allows remote authenticated users to control the device. The firmware-update procedure accepts a modified image without verifying its integrity before installing it. Administrative privileges and an initiated firmware update are required; successful installation grants full control and can alter meter behavior.
