Unauthenticated object injection via cookie deserialization
Published Dec 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
PHP object injection in Welcart e-Commerce before 2.9.5 allows remote attackers to invoke gadget methods through a crafted cookie. The plugin deserializes the unauthenticated usces_cookie value, instantiating an attacker-selected class and invoking its __wakeup method. The outcome requires a suitable gadget class already present on the WordPress site and is limited to behavior exposed by that gadget.
