CVE-2023-5938Network attack vector

Arbitrary file overwrite via unchecked archive paths

Published May 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Path traversal in Nozomi Networks Arc before 1.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite files via a tampered archive. Archive-processing functions extract member names without validating that their resolved paths remain inside the intended destination. An administrator must submit an archive for processing; successful overwrite can replace arbitrary filesystem content and enable command execution.
