Administrator-session script execution via unescaped externalUrl parameter
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 16, 2025
Reflected XSS in the Travelpayouts WordPress plugin before 1.1.14 allows remote attackers to run scripts by luring an administrator to a crafted URL. The travelpayouts_widget_render AJAX action returns the attacker-controlled externalUrl parameter without sanitizing or escaping it. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to open the link, allowing script execution in that administrator’s browser session.
