CVE-2023-5909Network attack vector

Unauthenticated connection via client-certificate hostname mismatch

Published Nov 30, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2026

Certificate validation in PTC KEPServerEX 6.14.263.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to connect without authentication. The public advisory does not identify which client-certificate verification routine accepts a certificate whose host identity is not properly validated. Network access to the affected service is sufficient; the resulting unauthorized connection exposes protected information, with no reported write or service-interruption impact.
