Review-status modification via missing CSRF check
Published Nov 1, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in PKP Web Application Library before 3.3.0-16 allows remote authenticated users to alter review-read status. The reviewRead method in PKPReviewerGridHandler processes the state-changing review-read request without calling the request token validator. Exploitation requires a logged-in victim to submit an attacker-controlled request, and the demonstrated consequence is limited to changing review workflow state.
