Wi-Fi reconfiguration via unauthenticated setup page
Published Jan 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Missing authentication in The Genie Company Aladdin Connect Retrofit Kit 14.1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to change its Wi-Fi SSID. The TCP port 80 web server serves the Garage Door Control Module Setup page and accepts SSID configuration changes without an authentication challenge. Attackers must share the retrofit kit's local network; the flaw changes network configuration but does not operate the garage door.
