CVE-2023-5855Network attack vector

Heap corruption via Reading Mode use-after-free

Published Nov 1, 2023 · Updated Apr 29, 2025

Use-after-free in Google Chrome Reading Mode before 119.0.6045.105 allows remote attackers to trigger heap corruption through UI gestures. Reading Mode accesses memory after its owning object is freed, but Google has not published the affected class, callback, or lifetime sequence. The remote attacker must convince the user to perform specific interface gestures; public technical details establish heap corruption but no more specific consequence.
