Unauthenticated file upload via wildcard type validation
Published Nov 22, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Drag and Drop Multiple File Upload for Contact Form 7 1.3.7.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to write server files. The dnd_upload_cf7_upload function fails to enforce file-type restrictions when the acceptable file types value is an asterisk. The flaw is reachable only after an editor or administrator adds that multiple-file-upload field; the direct impact is an attacker-controlled server file.
