CVE-2023-5808Network attack vector

Information disclosure via manipulated resource URLs

Published Dec 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 28, 2024

Improper authorization in Hitachi Vantara SMU before 14.8.7825.01 allows remote authenticated users to read HNAS backup and diagnostic data. The web interface accepts manipulated URLs that directly select configuration backup and diagnostic resources without enforcing the requesting Storage administrator's role restrictions. A valid Storage administrative account is required, and the disclosed files contain HNAS configuration and diagnostic information normally barred to that role.
