Unauthenticated REST administration page access
Published Oct 26, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Forced browsing in GeoServer GeoWebCache 1.15.0 and 1.15.1 allows remote attackers to view its REST administration page without authentication. The /geoserver/gwc/rest.html route renders the GeoWebCache REST interface without applying the login enforcement used by /geoserver/gwc/rest. An unauthenticated network request exposes administrative interface content; public evidence does not demonstrate authorization for state-changing REST operations.
