Reflected XSS via unescaped AJAX password input
Published Dec 11, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in the EmbedPress WordPress plugin before 3.9.2 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through crafted form input. The lock_content_form_handler AJAX action reflects the password and post_id request values into its response without sanitizing or escaping them. Exploitation requires a victim, including a high-privilege administrator, to submit an attacker-controlled form, after which the injected script runs in that user's browser context.
