CVE-2023-5746Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via CGI format string

Published Oct 24, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024

Externally controlled format string use in the cgi component of Synology Camera Firmware before 1.0.5-0185 allows remote attackers to execute code. The cgi component passes externally controlled input as a format string, but Synology has not disclosed the affected function or request field. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants code execution on a BC500 or TC500 camera.
