Subscriber-level settings modification via unchecked AJAX action
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Missing authorization in WebToffee WP Backup and Migration before 1.4.4 allows remote authenticated users to alter import settings. The mgdp_plugin_save_import_settings AJAX action accepts attacker-supplied settings_data values and saves them without checking the caller's capability. A Subscriber account is sufficient to change import request size and database-file-per-request settings, creating a bounded integrity impact.
