Unauthenticated configuration disclosure via forced browsing
Published Oct 23, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Forced browsing in Viessmann Vitogate 300 2.1.3.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to read sensitive configuration data. The integrated web server does not enforce authentication on resources under /cgi-bin/, so direct directory requests expose configuration files containing server and account credentials. No login is required, but the attacker must reach the appliance from an adjacent network; the reported consequence is disclosure rather than modification or interruption.
