Browser script execution via unescaped form errors
Published Oct 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 11, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Modoboa before 2.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through crafted profile input. The generic_field.html template marked validation errors as safe, so attacker-controlled profile-language error text was inserted without HTML escaping. Exploitation requires a low-privileged account and user interaction; injected script can read page data and issue same-origin actions in the victim's session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
