Authenticated command injection via tcptest.cgi input
Published Feb 5, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
OS command injection in AXIS OS 5.50 through 5.51 and 6.50.0 through 6.50.5.20 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The VAPIX tcptest.cgi endpoint passes insufficiently validated input to an operating-system command, while Axis has withheld further implementation details. An operator- or administrator-privileged service account is required; successful exploitation executes code on the device, with operator access producing lower impact.
